Radio Frequencies in France are being brought in to line with the European harmonisation directive, this from you point is good and states that 35mHz will be the standard frequency for aero modelling throughout Europe.

In 2007 the French complied with the European Directive, however they only confirmed 2 channels on 35mHz. Channels 60 & 61 are now available for aero modelling use and more are to be released.

The standard frequency in France is 41mHz, this will be phased out and a complete switch to 35mHz will be brought in. Until more channels become available we will continue to supply models on 41mHz equipment for customers to use in addition to the 2 35mHz channels.

Notes on 2.4gHz

Please note that there are restrictions covering 2.4gHz equipment. The ruling in France is that equipment for interior use may be up to 100mW radiated power, equipment for exterior use must not exceed 10mW.

This means that a Spectrum DX6 set is legal to use but not a Spectrum DX7 (because both are “designed” for exterior use). Futaba 2.4gHz sets are equipped with a power reduction switch to allow use in France.

Obviously models on 2.4gHz frequency are limited to electric “parkfly” type models due to the reduced radio range.
