We like to keep rules and regulations to a minimum, however we all accept some are necessary for safety. We have to comply with the French rules which provide a few differences and are highlighted below. A pilots briefing must be attended by all pilots prior to being allowed to fly, we will cover no fly zones, frequency control and general safety. Upon the completion of the briefing each pilot will undertake a supervised flight, to allow us to check competency and to discuss any possible concerns. Please note that we hope to not prevent anybody from flying and will offer everything practical to allow you to fly. Maximum noise is 78db as opposed to 80db in the UK, with most modern engines and silencers this is not an issue as long as the model is fitted with the correct size propeller. Noise tests will be carried out and noisy models will be have to be grounded. Radio frequencies are limited in France – please take time to read the frequency page on this site. Our designated flying area is laid out to comply with the French model flying regulations, it is necessary for models to flown within this area. The area is substantial (19 acres) but all pilots are required to be capable of performing left and right hand circuits and fly in front of themselves at all times (as per BMFA 'A' certification). The ferry operators have limitations on the quantity of flammable liquid you may take on board, we have a supplies of fuel on site.
